スイレンの池を泳ぐヘビ

2017／表紙の意匠と制作

瞬間芸を大切にしている。

思いついたその嬉しさとか、瞬発力のままにやることには間違いがない。
「膜」ということに興味がある。網戸越しに風景を撮る、その網戸に雨が降りかかって水滴がついてる膜になってる。

そんなところを撮っていたら、脇にあったガラスの花瓶が妙にきれいだ。
思いついて、半分水を入れて、口にiphoneを当てて、雨上がりの庭を歩き回った。なんかいいな！って思う色や形になったらシャッターを切る。
30分くらいとても楽しい時間だった。

この時に撮った写真で３点の作品ができた。これは最初の一つ。

プリントアウトは半紙。書道用品のお店に行くと、様々な半紙に墨を塗ってにじみ具合を試せる。かな書道用は、薄くてすべすべしてにじみが少ない傾向。漢字用はざらっとして筆の止まりがよく、滲みは多め。さらに、それぞれの紙で微妙にニュアンスが異なる。書道に親しんでいる人から見れば当たり前だろう。が、その紙をプリントアウトで使うとわくわくを感じるのだ。薄く儚い、柔弱な美。そして表面にとどまらず、染み渡って裏抜けする、なにか天然っぽい感じ。作品化しようとすると、柔らかすぎて難しいのだが、この「アクリルケース」に閉じ込めてしまえば、手と目のすぐ近くで楽しめる。

この最初の一作がとてもうまくいった。

レモンイエローというか薄黄色を基調としたプリントアウトに、部分的に切り取った寒冷紗を何枚も積層したら、ゴブラン織風の雰囲気もでた。
周囲を綴じる糸は黄色を選んで、背にはヘビ革を使って、熱帯雨林の爽やかな霧（桃源郷的気分？）を感じた。

25年くらい前に、睡蓮のたくさん咲いている池でスケッチをしていた時、立っている私の足の脇を、ヘビがすぅーっと水に入って、泳いで行ったのを思い出して、タイトルにしてみた。

I love instantaneous idea.

There is no mistakes with happiness finding ideas.

I was interested of membrane, like thin curtain, screen door, etc.

I took photos outside of my house through screen door with water drops.

At that time I found glass vase with water.

It looked so nice with outside scenery reflects and come through the vase and water in it.

I came up with taking photos using the vase.

After rain I walked around my father's garden.

I putted iphone on the mouth of the glass vase.

Scene of iphone screen had been（kept） changing all the time.

I enjoyed taking photos very much.

I used these photos to make three works.

The first one is this.

I print these photos on Hanshi that is Japanese calligraphy paper.

In Japan I can easy to buy this type paper.

The paper has many kind of good thing.

Almost of these are very soft and thin.

They have very many variations.

Surface is rough and smooth, bleeding well or not well.

Concerning print they have unique effect.

Because of the thinness and bleeding well, the ink come through to the back side. This makes unique beauty.

I put this into Sandwitch holder, the thinness was not week point but very effective half transparency.

I put muslin on this print.

This muslin for bookbinding likes cheesecloth.

The multilayered muslin looked like gobelin weave.

I used snake leather as spine, and Lemon yellow and green color were felt me tropical rain forest fresh wind.

The feeling reminded me of my experience write below.

About 25years ago, I sketched by the pond shore, many water lily flowers bloomed there, a snake crawled into the pond through my feet, then swimed. He moved so smooth and elegant with no sound.

I was so impressed.
