Shiro hebi san (Mr/Mrs white snake)
(Sandwitched notebook holder):

I found a small Benten shrine beside a pond near my house.
It had impressive red lattice doors. (Benten is one of the Japanese traditional gods related to money and water).

The inside of the shrine was almost empty but there was a small white snake figurine and cartons of Japanese sake.
The red and white contrast was simply beautiful.

In the lower corner there was black frog figurine.
( The white snake and black flog is nice combination but I don't know what it means. And the frog is not easy to find in this picture).

I tore some rakusuishi paper and made white snakes.
I put those on the shrine photos.
The paper is called rakusuishi which means falling water paper and is made by showering water onto paper.

On the back side of the covers, I used thin washi paper and silk threads.
I made many holes in the paper.
In Japan polka dot patterns are called mizutama.
Mizutama means small water ball.

Many things of this work is related to water.
